What is Homo Optimus about?

“Homo Optimus” would literally translate to “The Optimal Human” in English.

Yes, it is Latin and yes, it might sound a bit elitist…

But to me, it is all about becoming the optimal human. As in: the optimal version of yourself.

The nice thing is that you get to decide for yourself what your optimal version is. It can also change during the course of your life. Optimal is anything but fixed!

In trying to become the optimal version of myself, I like to use myself as a test subject. In the end there is only one way of knowing whether or not something works, and that is by trying it.

How will it work?

I will conduct one clearly defined experiment per month. I should have plenty of topics for the months to come, but suggestions are always welcome!

Before starting an experiment, I will write an introduction about the subject and pre-register it.

What do I mean by this? A clear framework will be established and I will stick to it throughout the experiment. I will clearly define the end state and what counts as success (or failure). And if an experiment has no (positive) results, I will publish it as well.

What type of experiments can you expect?

The experiments will be health or sports related and objectively measurable.

The first one, starting on the 1st of October, will focus on the impact of (heart) coherence training.

What do you get when you subscribe?

When you subscribe you will get a weekly update on the progress of the experiment and a monthly rundown of the results.

Plus the occasional detour into whatever else I’m reading about.
